JIM PHILLIPS SCREAMING MOUTH GRAPHIC
There’s tons of new decks from various companies released these days (it’s summer time!) and i just saw that Santa Cruz classic Screamin’ mouth graphic from Jim Phillips in the NHS catalog. Thing’s strange is that particular graphic was the same exactly as the one used on the first PPS series a few years ago….Idk if there’s some legal issues behind that but it looks way better on the PPS Shape, totally poping off the board like on the Screamin’ Hand logo! -KoolFunc’88

THE NUKE BOY DYNASTY DECK VARIATIONS
That’s so what i love in Skateboard art, the remakes! here’s a clear demo of a graphic which travel through time. According to S. Cliver the 1st issue was from Nash Skateboards probably in the debut 80’s and art by an unknown artist. Then in the 90’s, Blind snatch it and rename it from “Nuke Boy” to “Nuke Baby” for a Danny Way pro model courtesy of Marc McKee. Now, Blind re-use the graphic for a Ronnie Creager deck transformed into a “Nuke Rat” (with what looking to a Duane Peters deck in hand). Finally PPS releasing a Duane Peters popsicle with the original baby puking as “Puke Baby”…and this is how a graphic stay alive for about 30 years without knowing who design it! -KoolFunc’88

CREEPN’CRAWL’S ARTIST MATT FRENCH
Matt French is a mad prolific artist, dedicated to the skateboard art. He’s a real skateboarder too. He has lived his childhood in the 80’s so we have the same skate graphic inspirations and references. For me it’s a kinda fresh Jim Phillips with a creepy twist! He has done tons of graphics (Pocket Pistols, Volcom, LibTech..), always manually with pen, ink and paint, full of crazy details and smart ideas. He has the capacity of turning animal forms into funny monsters blending two species…like he has done on the EEERNK! model with that Pig-Bat! Insane in all the best ways! He’s a real cool guy and I’m stoked to work with him. I can’t expect better for what i want to do with CREEPN’CRAWL. I have already posted some of his work here, here and here but i still got some mo’. -KoolFunc’88
