CLAUS GRABKE “MELTING CLOCKS” OG PICT (JIM PHILLIPS)

This is absolutly “graphic nerd” but it’s the kind of thing i like a lot….On the left is the og pict which became the center charactere in the classic Jim Phillips’s “Melting Clocks” graphic for Claus Grabke 1987 street deck. Piece of history.

NEW SANTA CRUZ “CLAUS GRABKE” DECK FOR 2013 (PREVIEW)

Right after having a fresh batch of re-issues of his famous 1988 “Melting Clocks” deck, Claus announces his return to Santa Cruz and has already worked on his new shape with Connor Welles (the one he had in hand on the pict above). In the same time, The Phillips father and son have also locked a new “Mystery” graphic for him!!! Deck is supposed to be released sometime in May

SANTA CRUZ “CLAUS GRABKE” MELTING CLOCKS STREET DECK RE-ISSUE (REVIEW)

Not really a review, just  some detail picts of that nice re-issue which just pop from NHS. It’s a Claus Grabke Street from 1987, graphic by Jim Phillips. As i have it in hand i can tell it’s very well manufactured (don’t be scared by the “made in china” sticker). The shape looks correct to the og, a very slight spoon nose, short wheelbase (it’s a mini-street), new truck mounts (not a updated shape). Talking about the print, of course it’s not a real hand-screening but a descent 9 colors transfer with thick inking, it looks awesome for real. I only regret they don’t used fluorescent colors. Mine comes natural so i can’t tell on the stain colors for the two other variants. I have to admit it’s a pretty good job and a nice deck if you can’t afford a real og. ⚡KoolFunc’88

OG P.P.S “VENUS” DECK GRAPHIC BY JIM PHILLIPS

An other sick og art by Jim for sale ($1000). This one is from around 2008, and done for Pocket Pistols Skates, called “Venus” and eventually ended up as personal deck for Julie Kindstrand. Really nice ink! ⚡KoolFunc’88

SANTA CRUZ LIMITED SUMMER RE-ISSUES (GRABKE ST. & JESSEE SUNGOD)

What a good shot right here from NHS, those two re-issues are smashin’ hot! The Grabke Street is my favourite from the whole series and that mini Jessee Sungod is iconic. The shapes look pretty similar to the og on the picture instead a smaller wheelbase and by the way a bigger nose kick (I still don’t know why?), 3 different stains, hope it’s nicely done like the Neptune Jessee from a few years ago. I have to crack some $ on these classic Phillips, and i recommand SoCalSkates if you want one. Funcrime’88
