EVIL “FACTION” DIRTJUMP BIKE

Honestly i’ve never heard about Evil Bikes (USA) before seeing their completes on Chainreaction. It seams they only got 2 types of frames right now, the Revolt, all suspended and dedicated to DownHill and the one that interest me, the Faction, a Classic Dirt jump Bike with that low profile and dynamic geometry we loved to ride. The components on the complete are probably handled by the distributors as they dont show em on the official Evil website, but it seams ok at first sight, exept of course the classic Marzocchi DJ III which still weight like a dead body! ..a brand to follow in the future. Keep reading for the completes bikes previews -KoolFunc’88

AD OF THE DAY!

I remember when the FreeCoaster first appears, we all want to try it, it was like a revolutionary type of shit that can let you choose between a freewheel and a coaster-brake without changing your rear wheel, the only bad point was the price…Don’t know if they have done the same thing with the new fashion fixed gear bikes but i think it will be cool to switch from Freewheel to Fixed in one clic! -KoolFunc’88

By the way i’m still on a project and going right back to my drawing board, so no update by me for the week end, maybe my U.B Partners will post something..for my part i will be back on monday!

DARKSTAR NEW DECKS (SPRING 2010)

Above, are the new Machnau, Dyet, Thomas and Decenzo Grafics for spring’s Darkstar Skateboards collection. Those are crazy and remind me some old school World type shit of design,…it definitly seams the good 90’s grafic-styles will make a return into the 2010 skateboard industry and that’s a great great news…Forget about all those illustrator vectorised shit and bring back the good old pens and color separation process. The Machnau is insane! -KoolFunc’88

WHEN WE WERE YOUNG & RECKLESS (MID 90’S)

In the 90’s, paris city subway, it was so “normal” to zone in the transit with bunch of cans and markers, putting names and shit all over everything in front of anybody…We were young and reckless! (This particular day featuring if i well remember, my partner in crime Ryck, Oshey, Gutch, Okiz, Teaze from Boston (R.I.P) and of course our own photographer Silvio “Bolid” Magaglio.  -KoolFunc’88

BORIS VALLEJO “SPACE” ART

Here are some paintings from the famous Peruvian-American artist Boris Vallejo (born 1941), who is with Frank Frazetta, one of the best Fantasy Sci-fi surealistic painter. He has tons of hard work in his background mostly based on Fantasy, erotic and sci-fi. You maybe also know his wife Julie Bell who’s a famous artist in the same vein…Anyway here’s some paints about “Space”. -KoolFunc’88

40 THIEVES (UNDERWORLD CRIMELORDZ) PROJECT 2000

Once again i have digged in the archives and found that mini-collection i have worked on a few years ago (almost 10 years by now…) .It was about a brand i would like to build up at the time called “40 Thieves”. So i have created a few branding logos as some models for the first throw of t-shirts, a magazine in the same vein as Life Sucks Die would be added to the t-shirt packs as some stickers…Apparently a nice project, but life make me do something else and i let the idea fall in the vault of unborns creations. By the way, it was the end of my collaboration with Wrung and i probably don’t want to let go so easily my love for t-shirts grafics..Right after i’ve jumped on the GrimTeam line and it was better like that…I trully can’t handle a brand fully by me, my part is the “grafics” and i want to keep sticking to it. -KoolFunc’88
