Here’s two movies/documentaries you must see if you were in Bmx at a time or just interested by that bicycle mode. Handled by Mark Eaton of Bang! Pictures. Start with “Joe Kid on a Stingray”, the film despite and document the history of Bmx and its developement till now, focussing on some of the most important figures of the discipline. It’s a kind of “DogTown Z-Boys” film for Bmx. A lot of never seen archive footage, great story telling, interviews and still pictures…a must see!
“Stompin’ Stu” is more like a biopic on Stu Thomsen, the racing boss from the 80’s, It’s like a motion “Bmx Action” back in the 80’s with all the stories floating around the Race Leaders. One more time great archives and interviews. You can also see Stu’s running the comp radicaly at age 50!! Personnaly i prefer “Joe Kid” cause it covers the whole movement throught the years and involve more peoples, but “Stompin'” is also a must see for all racers and a good memory reminder for old folks!
