This Jason Jessee Sungod re-issue deck is a mini-model and comes really clean like the Grabke. Graphic by Jim Phillips. It was kinda pain in the ass to find a NOS of this one…and cost also a lot of money. Now you can grab one for 50 bucks like in 1988. The shape is the pointy one without update, small kick on the nose, modern bases. Very clean transfered graphic, with some printing defaults like the screened version! They even took time to pull out the transfer residue off the truck holes… I shot a black stained one, but the stained blue and dipped orange look nice too. Once again, good job NHS! More picts after the jump. ⚡KoolFunc’88
Not really a review, just some detail picts of that nice re-issue which just pop from NHS. It’s a Claus Grabke Street from 1987, graphic by Jim Phillips. As i have it in hand i can tell it’s very well manufactured (don’t be scared by the “made in china” sticker). The shape looks correct to the og, a very slight spoon nose, short wheelbase (it’s a mini-street), new truck mounts (not a updated shape). Talking about the print, of course it’s not a real hand-screening but a descent 9 colors transfer with thick inking, it looks awesome for real. I only regret they don’t used fluorescent colors. Mine comes natural so i can’t tell on the stain colors for the two other variants. I have to admit it’s a pretty good job and a nice deck if you can’t afford a real og. ⚡KoolFunc’88
What a good shot right here from NHS, those two re-issues are smashin’ hot! The Grabke Street is my favourite from the whole series and that mini Jessee Sungod is iconic. The shapes look pretty similar to the og on the picture instead a smaller wheelbase and by the way a bigger nose kick (I still don’t know why?), 3 different stains, hope it’s nicely done like the Neptune Jessee from a few years ago. I have to crack some $ on these classic Phillips, and i recommand SoCalSkates if you want one. ⚡Funcrime’88
An other killer deck by PPS! Look like the same shape as the “Pirate” deck, so this could be a 36″ big ass board. Of course, graphic by M. French ⚡KoolFunc’88
Too bad i can’t find a better pict of this og art which ended up different on the final Powell-Peralta product back in 1980. ⚡KoolFunc’88
